Trees, insects, mites, and diseases of Canada's forests
Trees, insects, mites, and diseases of Canada’s forests (TIMDCF) is a database that provides detailed information on more than 200 native trees and more than 400 insects, mites, pathogens (bacteria, fungi, nematodes, parasitic plants, and viruses), and other damage agents that can affect trees in Canada’s natural, rural, and urban areas.
Users can navigate through the database’s major sections: trees; insects and mites; diseases caused by pathogens; diseases and damage caused by other agents; and affected tree host parts. The database is also cross-referenced so that you can find lists of all the insects, mites, and diseases that affect a particular tree species, and so that you can find all the tree hosts that any single insect, mite, or disease affects.
Much of this information has been prepared by current and former Canadian Forest Service specialists and research scientists. Other experts were consulted and enlisted as required.
